Where is Room 25?

Walk from the parking lot closest to 22nd St., and pass the 4th grade wing.  Stop before you get to the playground and my room is on the left immediately  after the bathrooms on the left side. I am next door to the 2 science rooms. Great location to the computer lab, science, library, bathroom, playground, MPR, and lunch tables. I have been in my room for many years and the other 3rd grades are now in the portables.  I like that we have our own bathroom and are close to everything! Come on by Tuesday morning so I can meet you!  Mrs. Dangl

Welcome to 3rd Grade at Kaiser!

Hi! I am Mrs. Dangl and I am excited to be teaching your child this upcoming school year.  I have been teaching at Kaiser since 1993 and I love 3rd grade.  You and your child are in for a fun year full of learning, growing, friendships, memories, and adventures.  Learning should be fun and with third grade we have cursive and multiplication to learn.  Science is every other week where they do hands on experiments.  We also go to music every week where we learn how to play the recorder. I have a piano in my room and we will be singing a lot in class as we wake up our brain and learn songs that help us remember our curriculum, math concepts, grammar rules, multiplication times tables, etc.  We will be writing stories, writing in our weekend news journal, reading lots of fun stories, and exercising for PE and running the track with Running Club. We love to do fun art projects plus we will have field trips to go on throughout the year.  We love parent helpers and they are essential in making our learning stations take place.  Please go online to the www.kaiser.schoolloop.com and on the left look for Parent Volunteer Info.  Sign up and then go to your dr. or the Best Center to have them sign you off that you are clear of TB (the test isn't required anymore) and you are good for another 4 years.  We need you!

Please mark your calendars for Back to School Night,

Thursday, Sept. 6th. 3rd grade 6:30 - 7:15

(Intro in quad at 6:15-6:30 pm)

Early out that day at 1:40 pm. At this meeting I will review my goals, curriculum, homework plan, and discipline polices.

See you on Tuesday.  You may bring your child to the classroom and I would love to meet you on the first day of school!  School starts at 8:20 with the second bell and the first bell rings at 8:15 when I will open up the classroom.  They are dismissed at 2:50 and go straight to the bus, bike rack, or place you have decided on to meet.  Wed. is early out day at 1:40 pm.  Thursday will also be early out day this week because of BTSN at 1:40.

Thanks - Mrs. Dangl

Items they might want to bring:

Rules of Rounding

Rules of Rounding

Rounding Chant

0,1,2,3, 4 stay the same

don’t make it more

5,6,7,8,9 round it up

and that’s just fine

Rules of Rounding

1. Underline the place you

are rounding to.

2. Draw an arrow to the right

which is “boss man.”

3. Boss man tells the first number

to stay the same or round up.

4. Change all the numbers

to the right to zeroes.

6 5    Boss man 5 says to 6 to

 round up to 7  . . .

 then add a zer0  -  70

3 4 1  Boss man 4 says to 3 to stay the same  . . .

then add zeroes behind it - 300
